A regulatory change doesn't end in the legal department; there are settings in your e-commerce platform that correspond to it. Most already exist in current platforms but arrive switched off.
01. The Price History Field
Does your platform store product price changes as history and can it export them? If it doesn't, you cannot prove a discount claim. If nothing is being recorded, turning that on is the first job.
02. The Discount Display Template
How old price, new price and discount rate appear on the product card is defined at theme level. Getting the template right once is a lasting fix compared with correcting each campaign by hand.
03. Stacked Discount Logic
When a coupon, a basket discount and a campaign combine, the calculation behind the displayed final price must be unambiguous. Validating that logic with a test scenario removes a large share of customer complaints up front.
04. Product Description Fields
Open a field to hold a document link for products carrying environmental claims. Making it mandatory at product creation is far cheaper than sweeping thousands of products later.
05. AI-Generated Imagery
If you use AI-generated product images or promotional video, that has to be disclosed. A label field in the media library covers you at the next inspection.
06. The Marketplace Side
If you sell the same product on marketplaces, price and description consistency matters. A different discount claim across channels puts every channel on the agenda with a single complaint.
