Choosing an e-commerce platform in Turkey depends far less on feature lists than on your sales model. The same platform is excellent at one firm and inadequate at another.
01. Local or Global
Local platforms ship out-of-the-box solutions for marketplace integration, courier firms and e-invoicing. Shopify stands out on global ecosystem, multi-currency and international selling.
02. The Marketplace Link
If a large share of your sales runs through Trendyol and Hepsiburada, local platforms have the advantage. When those integrations are included in the standard package, a separate integrator cost disappears.
03. B2B Needs
If you sell to dealers you need price lists, dealer-level discounts, account balances and order approval. On some platforms these are add-on modules and on others they don't exist at all.
04. Total Cost
The monthly package fee is not the only line. Transaction commission, payment infrastructure fees, theme and app costs plus developer support change the picture. Compare on an annual total.
05. Customisation Limits
In closed systems, theme and flow changes are limited. If you have your own design and process requirements, examine how open the platform is and how broad its API coverage is up front.
06. The Exit Scenario
Can you fully export your product, customer and order data? Platform changes come up more often than you expect; data portability should be a selection criterion.
