Odoo Pricing and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

Odoo Enterprise pricing, partner services, server, training and maintenance — a 3-year total cost calculation.

Odoo Pricing TCO

The sentence "Odoo Community is free" is true but misleading. The real Odoo cost is the sum of license, partner services, server, training and maintenance. In this article we'll calculate the 3-year total cost of ownership (TCO) with concrete items.

01. License Cost

Enterprise: $200-500 per user per year (scaled by user count). Community: $0. But Enterprise has many ready modules; developing the same function in Community turns into developer fees.

02. Partner Implementation Cost

In Turkey, authorized partners charge $60-150 per implementation hour. An average implementation project takes 200-800 hours. This is the biggest item of the first year.

03. Server and Cloud

odoo.sh is included with Enterprise (billed per user). For self-hosted, a 4 CPU + 8 GB RAM server is ~$100/month. Backup and monitoring are additional.

04. Training

User training takes 2-5 days, by the partner. Extra cost between $2,000-10,000, depending on team size.

05. Maintenance and Support

Annual continuous improvement, version updates and problem solving: around 15-25% of the implementation cost. Some partners offer a fixed monthly package.

06. A 3-Year TCO Example

Estimated 3-year total cost for a 30-user, mid-sized manufacturing company: License $27,000 + Implementation $50,000 + Server $3,600 + Training $8,000 + Maintenance $30,000 = ~$118,600. This figure can be 40-50% lower than SAP Business One at the same scale.
