"Let the site work on mobile too." That sentence was enough 10 years ago. Today, mobile is the site's first, not second, medium. In Turkey, 70%+ of traffic comes from mobile. Mobile-first design is no longer a trend but an infrastructure requirement.
01. What Does Mobile-First Mean?
Drawing the mobile screen first in the design process and making design decisions on mobile. The desktop version is the expanded version of the mobile foundation. The exact opposite of the classic approach.
02. Hit Areas and Finger Ergonomics
In mobile design, the standard is a minimum 44×44 px touch area. A finger's contact area is about this size. Smaller buttons dramatically increase the error rate.
03. Menu and Navigation
8 menu items are normal on desktop, too many on mobile. A hamburger menu should be preferred; primary actions (like Get a Quote) should always be accessible above the menu.
04. Content Ordering
On mobile, what's seen first determines the user experience. The hero headline, sub-paragraph and primary CTA should appear on the first screen. Giving information with left/right swiping — since it isn't practical — should be avoided as much as possible.
