Excel is the enterprise world's most widely used data-analysis tool. Copilot's changes in Excel make this tool even more powerful. A user who gives requests in natural language can do analysis through conversation instead of complex formulas.
01. Formulas in Natural Language
With commands like "find the sum of the values in this column" or "sort the customers in column A by order volume," Copilot writes the formula itself. There's no need to learn complex uses like VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP or INDEX-MATCH.
02. Data Analysis
Copilot looks at a table and produces automatic commentary like: "Here are 3 key insights: the best-selling product is X, the most returns are in category Y, sales dropped in Q3." Valuable as a starting point.
03. Formatted Reports
From raw data, pivot tables, conditional formatting and chart suggestions come automatically. With the command "prepare this table for a management presentation," multiple visuals are created at once.
04. Limits
Copilot still can't master macros with complex business rules or multi-sheet Excel models. It works at low-to-medium complexity.
